Heligoland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heligoland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This is an island near England.  It was blown up during the 2nd World War.  But all attempts to destroy this island failed.  Until 1946/47.  The British blew it all up, to coincide with BBC radio pips.  A few people were tucked away in bunkers beneath the island.  The entire island shook and rocked to the continued blasts, that lasted for 1hr 45 mins.
